Bezzera Duo DE/MN espresso machine with dual boiler and PID temperature control system
The Bezzera Duo DE combines professional technology with digital control and touch display. The best dual-circuit portafilter system from Bezzera comes elegantly with chrome-plated side panels, an LED illuminated logo on the back panel and professional technology for great comfort and the best results in the cup. The most important thing is the dual boiler technology, which is otherwise only installed in the highest quality professional catering coffee machines. The Bezzera Duo DE sets new standards in comfort, temperature and pressure stability. A perfect espresso thanks to the digital control for setting the various brewing parameters, including the pre-infusion that is common in the professional sector. The Bezzera Duo DE is a very powerful 1-group portafilter espresso machine for lovers of Italian espresso and coffee specialties in offices, small restaurants or at home when several people want to enjoy a "real" espresso with or without creamy milk foam.
Bezzera Duo – dual boiler in chrome
The duo stands for dual boiler. The hot water preparation for the espresso and the steam generation for milk frothing take place in two separate boilers. This ensures the highest temperature and pressure stability even with high usage frequency. The duo also stands for the housing shape, with the high-quality side panels in chrome. This makes the Bezzera Duo a shiny piece of jewelry and at the same time the high-quality appearance is a calling card for the professional interior made of copper and stainless steel.
Programmable cup sizes
In the DE version, the Bezzera Duo has a dosing electronics for 4 buttons with individually programmable cup sizes. This allows even inexperienced users to prepare a first-class espresso easily and conveniently. In combination with a good espresso grinder and an automatic tamper (mechanical compaction of the coffee grounds in the portafilter), anyone can get a good espresso out of the Bezzera Duo DE immediately and intuitively.
Fast heating with the Bezzera brewing group
The BZ brewing group is a genuine Bezzera in-house development and has proven itself in various Bezzera series. Unlike the legendary E61 brewing group, the BZ brewing group is not heated by the boiler water, but by a separate heater in the brewing group itself. This means that the BZ brewing group is very temperature-stable. The group cannot overheat during long standby times and cannot cool down too much during heavy use. The additional heater also ensures that the required operating temperature is reached very quickly. After switching on, the Bezzera Duo DE is fully operational in around 10 minutes. The integrated digital temperature control system, PID, also ensures an optimal brewing temperature that can be adjusted to the type of coffee used.
Adjustable rotary pump
With the Bezzera Duo DE, the Bezzera team has designed the entire interior for professional use. In addition to the dual boiler technology, an extremely powerful, durable and adjustable rotary pump ensures independence in the fresh water supply. The Bezzera Duo can be supplied both via a water tank and optionally via a fixed water connection. Rotary pumps are significantly quieter in operation than vibration pumps, while at the same time providing higher and more stable pressure output. With the Bezzera Duo DE, the pump pressure can also be adjusted from the outside.
What is the difference between the Bezzera in the DE or PM (MN) version?
DE stands for the version with dosing electronics and thus for 4 programmable cup sizes - and electrically heated BZ brewing group, also controlled by a thermo probe. The MN stands for "Manuale" at Bezzera and means that the extraction is controlled by a switch, push button or lever. The user decides here whether to start and stop the extraction. A very experienced barista can manually control the extraction and thus influence the taste experience in the cup. When using only one espresso bean and the classic espresso as standard, the DE version with automatic portioning ensures absolutely consistent results.
What is the difference between the Bezzera DUO and the Bezzera Matrix?
The Bezzera DUO differs mainly in its housing shape - The Matrix espresso machine has transparent side panels with RGB LEDs that can light up in adjustable colors. It can therefore score particularly well in modern kitchens, where the portafilter is a central eye-catcher and sets a special accent - The Bezzera Duo, in contrast, is a classic portafilter espresso machine with very well-crafted stainless steel side panels.

Luxury for the Senses
The Bezzera Duo DE offers control and setting options that will make every ambitious barista and the novice coffee lover happy. Thanks to the traditional portafilter brewing group, every coffee preparation is a magical process that lasts from the grinding sound of the grinder, the smooth screwing in of the portafilter, the quiet hum of the pump or the aroma of the finished coffee to the slurping sound of the milk frothing. Every coffee becomes a luxury for the senses .
character and format through beautiful wooden applications
Bezzera has not only designed the interior to the highest standards, but has also rethought the design of the machine. The logo on the back is illuminated by LEDs, so the Bezzera Duo DE is always in the right light. In addition to the cool technical look in chrome and stainless steel, Bezzera uses beautiful wooden applications on the handles and tilt valves to give it character and format. The wood is a real warm touch and makes coffee preparation even more emotional and pleasant - you'll already be looking forward to the next coffee break. In addition, the individual wooden applications convey the sustainability and elegant quality of the Bezzera Duo DE - simply a "bella Macchina" inside and out!
Craftsmanship & perfection from the Milanese manufactory
Bezzera is a family business that has been manufacturing high-quality, professional espresso machines since 1901. In order to guarantee the proven high quality, all of the required parts have been manufactured in-house in the Milan factory for generations. No other espresso machine manufacturer has such a vertical range of manufacture, which is also combined with great craftsmanship . For example, all of the sheets are flanged at the edges to create rounded edges. The Bezzera DUO DE PID impresses with an elegant housing made of chrome-plated ANSI 304 stainless steel, with two boilers and pipes made of copper, professional tilt valves for perfect milk frothing / hot water dispensing and the digital PID temperature control system as well as the separately heated BZ brewing group. The high level of vertical range of manufacture in the Bezerra espresso machine factory also ensures a long-term secure spare parts situation, so that repairs are guaranteed even after many years of use.
dual boiler or dual-circuit portafilter
A temperature of around 90°-94° is required for brewing coffee, and around 110°-130° is required for frothing milk. Dual boiler espresso machines use two separate boilers, one for the brewing circuit and one for the steam circuit. This technology is complex and is mainly found in the professional sector. In machines with one boiler, such as most dual-circuit espresso machines, the fresh water for the espresso is heated in the hotter steam boiler using a system with a heat exchanger. The ideal temperature of the brewing water is then determined by the run-through time and the ambient temperature . If the standby time is longer, the water is hotter than 94°C and the brewing group is overheated. Before the next brewing process, the brewing group must therefore be cooled down using a targeted cooling flush, i.e. an empty draw, in order to reduce the water temperature slightly. However, with two or more dispensings in a row, the target temperature drops more quickly and the brewing group temperature is then too low. The dual boiler system completely compensates for these relatively large temperature fluctuations. The smaller boiler delivers the desired brewing temperature for the espresso. The second, larger boiler produces the steam and hot water for tea. Even with several dispensings in a row or preparing steam and espresso at the same time - the dual boiler technology makes everything a little more effortless.
These two separate boilers for brewing water and steam open up completely new possibilities for the capacity and control of the machine. The dual boiler technology allows espresso and steam to be drawn simultaneously with the highest pressure and temperature stability - especially several times in a row. In addition, the pressure and temperature of the individual boilers can be individually adjusted. For ambitious baristas, this means working like a professional. For offices - where 10 cups are drawn in a row in the morning, this means the same quality every time. This also applies to small restaurants, where larger machines would otherwise have to be used to achieve comparable output quality in the cup.
Lime-containing water leads to heavy deposits, particularly in the hot areas such as the two boilers, pipes and various valves. Sooner or later, this leads to malfunctions, for example in the boiler level contacts, and thus to malfunctions. Descaling is not easy with such systems! Since fresh water is constantly being added, the boilers become contaminated with descaler and form residues or residues that do not belong in the coffee. A water filter system should therefore be used in front of the machine, which filters out most unwanted micro-substances. Incidentally, these professional systems do not filter out all lime. A really good-tasting espresso needs some lime in the water. Water that is too "soft" prevents limescale build-up, but results in too little taste. We recommend a water filter system and at least an annual check and professional cleaning, which also includes replacing wearing parts such as showers and seals.
