Dual circuit portafilter machine - Steam and hot water at the same time

All machines in the Bezzera Mitica series are classic dual-circuit portafilter espresso machines. This means that the water circuit for steam extraction and espresso brewing are separate. The Mitica Top PID therefore simultaneously delivers dry steam for frothing milk and hot water for espresso dispensing. The boiler volume of 2.0 l and the heating output are significantly larger than in simple single-circuit systems, such as the Bezerra BZ09. In the large copper boiler of the Mitica, the generated dry steam is around 120°C and the fresh water for the espresso is heated to the brewing temperature set in the PID system via an integrated heat exchanger with an optimized thermosyphon. The solid E61 brewing group keeps the temperature stable for a very long time, but can also overheat slightly if it is not in use for a long time. Professionals compensate for this by "flushing" the brewing group once before making the coffee. The two pressure gauges display the current pump pressure and the boiler pressure, so that the brewing process can be very well controlled.
