This JoeFrex Base Kock made of stainless steel is part of a tamper set and becomes the basic equipment of an espresso machine with the help of a handle. The tamper compacts the coffee powder in the portafilter and thus offers the necessary resistance in the extraction process of the espresso machine. Even the smallest irregularity in tamping has an astonishingly large effect on the taste and can make the difference between a delicious and a boring brew.

The diameter of the tamper should always match that of the portafilter so that a uniform and solid coffee cake is created in the portafilter. This knock has a patented silicone ring to protect the portafilter, as the tamper is often knocked on the side of the portafilter after the espresso has been tamped for the first time, which causes all the espresso powder to fall from the edge into the portafilter.
