Tamping coffee correctly - How to always achieve a consistent result when tamping coffee

This 90mm professional tamper handle is made of high-quality aluminum. With this pressure-adjustable JoeFrex Technic tamper handle, a precise pressure result can always be achieved. When the previously set maximum pressure is reached, the ground coffee press is automatically triggered. The result is coffee that is always evenly distributed and tamped in the portafilter. Depending on the type of coffee used and the setting of the grinding level of the coffee grinder, the maximum pressure can be set to a constant adjustment range of 8 kg to 21 kg.

The tamper handle can be combined with all bases from the JoeFrex Base Knock series. In combination with the JoeFrex Baseknock, this adjustable handle gives you an ideal and elegant espresso tamper. It is used to press the espresso into the portafilter so that you can then fully enjoy the coffee - regardless of whether you have a large number of customers or frequently changing staff in your restaurant.

Tampers are indispensable preparation aids for your tasty espresso. If the coffee is not evenly distributed in the portafilter, the coffee grounds will be unevenly dense, which means that the water flows through the coffee powder at different speeds. Pressing requires full physical effort and constant pressure should be applied.

The base, the shaft and the pressure springs are made of stainless steel. A rubber buffer has been integrated between the base and the handle for optimal damping. The pressure is set using the adjustment screw fixed in the core. The tamper can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but must NOT be put in the dishwasher! To improve lubrication of the shaft, a drop of fine machine oil can be added from above from time to time.

Important note: Please do not adjust the two hexagon socket screws on the side!
